I’m assuming people are still afraid from the corona virus and there were no tourists anywhere which made it lovely to walk and stroll around and check out all the animals at your own paces without rushing. Gladly everything was fully open and to my surprise the park was empty. The only hard part was keeping the mask on for hours of walking in the hot sun. Nevertheless the Bronx Zoo during covid 19 didn’t disappoint and the park was decorated for Halloween through out the entire park. I guess thats a bargain next to full price days which is about $39.99. Which is supposed to be donations day but really It wasn’t because they have a suggested $15 each to see all Exhibitions including butterfly Garden and bug carouselI and the Congo (gorillas) exhibit. My boyfriend and I planned a date at the Bronx zoo for last Wednesday. It felt like a day worthy of a lifetime memory. I assume his dreams were likewise coopted. He fell asleep talking about Grandpa’s zoo and awakened to the same theme. Another curtain-call turn on the Bug Carousel and a treat in the Dancing Crane, and our expedition ended in joyful tiredness. By the time we hit the Reptile House, he was near satiety, absorbing only highlights. A cage full of clambering pigmy mice, each smaller than a walnut elevates a child to a level of fascination no tablet can equal! We watched our little guy’s attention span labor to happy exhaustion. With a small step that runs beneath the exhibits throughout almost the entire building, the MH facilitates discoveries and delights-without adult mediation, the scourge of great learning. Next stop was the zoo’s unheralded toddler paradise, to my mind the single best exhibit for the munchkin set: the Mouse House. But the order of magical magnitude grows when it is the enchanting bug carousel of the Bronx Zoo and when said amusement is so empty that its newest fan can take 7 turns riding 7 different bugs without leaving the Merri go round to stand in line! To be with a 21/2 year old on his first carousel is magical. The later thinned the crowd of fellow visitors, leaving us like lords of a sumptuous manor, replete with dazzling menagerie. We chose a bright, chilly, winter day, with a significant wind chill. I am intense, focused and comprehensive But I discovered an alternate universe when we took our visiting two and a half year old grandson to my beloved ‘home zoo’ in the Bronx. Seiko aspires to follow in the footsteps of his Silverbacks teammate Ishmael Wainwright, who is already playing professionally in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns.Zoos are serious business for me. If Seiko performs well and shows his value during the summer league and other preseason events, he could earn a spot on the Warriors' roster for the upcoming season, possibly in a two-way role.
